An unusual combination of Bass and Qanun. JazzOil represents a cultural bridge between the orient and the occident, fusing jazz and traditional Arab music.

Created in Tunis by Slim Abida and Nidhal Jaoua around an unusual combination of Bass and Qanun, JazzOil represents a cultural bridge between the orient and the occident, fusing jazz and traditional Arab music.
Actively present in the emerging Tunisian music scene, JazzOil mirrors the recent change of the country, performing in many cultural manifestations, before, during and after the revolution.
Whether through rhythms from the Maghreb, or by a Jazzy Groove, Nidhal Jaoua and Slim Abida mix Tunisian traditional melodies with instrumental virtuosic improvisation that leads to a performance full of surprises.
Since 2011, Slim and Nidhal live between Paris and Tunis and perform regularly in clubs like the sunset, the Baisé Salé, the Black Cat, the Jamel Comedy Club and many others.
